For the past 23 years, I have held various positions in project management and engineering in the computer hardware industry. Currently, I am a technical program manager and responsible for leading design teams, controlling costs, schedules, and creating risk mitigation plans when necessary. I effectively communicate status reports to upper management. My strength is driving the design by demonstrating strong interpersonal skills resulting in effective collaboration with team members and other departments. I have demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities by making independent decisions. As a Project Engineer and System Engineer, I was responsible for developing handheld computers and accessories. My strength was facilitating technical architecture decisions between various engineering and manufacturing departments. My experience includes integrating electro-mechanical modules into small design packages, managing tooling vendors, monitoring the compliance of product specifications and ensuring schedules remain on track. I have exceptional project and time management skills as evidenced by accountability for critical projects. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, I was responsible for leading the mechanical design to ensure all designs were robust and innovative. I have led junior and intermediate designers by managing design reviews, developing verification plans, and coordinating design tasks. I was also responsible for designing plastic and metal components/assemblies using Pro Engineer. From a Quality/Manufacturing engineering perspective, I have extensive experience analyzing new and existing product designs. I have a strong ability of reviewing designs to ensure that they are feasible, manufacturable, and cost effective. In my role at Celestica and Psion Teklogix, I often had to resolve stop ship quality issues with various suppliers. I was also responsible for assessing new suppliers, and driving DFX concepts into designs.
