About Alan Portner

Alan Portner is a lifelong journalist and publication executive. He has published or had an ownership interest in daily newspapers located in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, South Carolina, and Virginia. Since retirement, Portner has fulfilled freelance contracts for government, the military, and other clients. He currently heads reviewers for BroadwayWorld.com in the Kansas City area. He will personally review in excess of one hundred live productions annually. Portner is also experienced as a provider of technical documents, articles, proposals, speeches, business plans, mixed media, and white papers. Portner is additionally an author of historical non-fiction in book form. Portner is a frequent speaker on “The Evolution of the Media in America,” “Gaining Access to Media,” “Networking,” “Strategic Marketing,” and “Freelance Writing.” He has presented programs for American Independent Writers, Inland Press Association, George Mason University, South Dakota State University and many others.
