Hi, I have a fantastic wealth of experience gained throughout more than 23 years in a family ran business selling carpeting and floor coverings. I Started-in J&W carpets in 1997, gained an early promotion to an Assistant Manager roughly a year later - then to Shop Manager. Now having been moved around from shop to shop, helping and improving every aspect within each one,(seven now in total )- leaving them in a far better place than I found them than before. Now streamlined and stronger to face the constant challenges of an extremely volatile retail market at the moment. I am pretty well rounded in all aspects of running a retail business in this particular field I feel now.Employing Staff, Staff Training.The logistics and transportation of carpeting/ underlay,floor coverings and all manner of related goods, the Warehousing and Accounting of said goods also. Anything and everything in this particular field.I am as hungry and motivated today as I was 23 years ago, I endeavour to do my best daily.I am an extremely hardworking,dedicated individual and always striving to better myself both in my own knowledge and also to broaden my own horizons, enriching me as a person moving forward. Everyday is a school day as the saying goes. My late father was in retail also and he always told me one simple mantra to remember and adhere to always (, you are as good as your last day ), I have always lived my life by that simple saying in keeping me being effective and hopefully a vital member to the company moving forward. I hand on heart know I couldn’t do much more in the days I have worked gone past.This keeps me grounded and always thinking of making a difference each day in some way, whether it’s maximising a sale, increasing logistics, or putting an arm around a staff member making sure they are okay,after all in business we are as good as our staff,or our weakest member.I always want to maintain staff morale too keep output high and also to create a better working environment for all.
