Strong background in project management covering all life cycle phases, including requirements definition, planning, cost estimating, market research, scheduling, budgeting, negotiations, development, test management, acquisitions, operations, logistics, and product retirement and final disposal. Experienced in managing multiple major acquisition development and sustainment programs. Some career highlights were supervision of eight cross-functional staff concurrently managing six aircraft systems and developing new avionics systems, and direction of a 20-person combined government/contractor team in the $8.9B purchase of 61 aircraft. This team delivered US Special Operations Command’s #1 acquisition priority from initial requirement to initial delivery ahead of schedule and was honored with a nomination for the Air Force-level 2009 Chief of Staff Team Excellence Award. Next, hand-picked to chair a 60-person team which validated operational and logistics requirements that transformed a fighter base to special operations use, and enabled successful relocation and sustainment of 100+ aircraft and personnel. Then again hand-picked to manage the design and testing efforts of eight federal agencies in proving national-level GPS interference detection, location and reporting system concept, and began development for systems integration and production. Other highlights include leading a lean logistics initiatives team which identified 90 improvement areas and increased the A-10 aircraft fleet's mission capability 20% at no cost, and finally, managing a team which redesigned & fixed the T-6A user’s #1 safety issue, cockpit cooling system, months ahead of schedule.
