I am a retired solicitor. I was formerly a partner and latterly a consultant in the Private Client department of Anderson Strathern. For over 35 years I had been advising on wealth preservation and succession matters. I covered all aspects of private client work including wills and executries, tax planning and trusts as well as issues relating to incapacity and the elderly. I also acted for a small number of grant giving charitable trusts. I have previously been a tutor at the University of Edinburgh Legal Practice Unit and later the external examiner for the private client course. I have now given up my practicing certificate but enjoy following what continues to be a fascinating area of legal practice.
