About Alan Solorio

I really started to come into where I am today and took my intrinsic qualities of being compassionate and an overall hospitable human being who cared about others as much as I did myself and learned how to really cook and went back to the restaurants as a line cook this time. Spent some time at Revolution honing all of the culinary basics and essentials like proper knife skills and kitchen etiquette. I was also able to enhance my problem solving skills even further and deduction skills to know how to multitask efficiently and with ease all while maintaining a neat and tidy station and appearance. Still continuing with school just taking minimal classes such as; philosophy courses, business classes and culinary classes and anthropology courses to not lose the structure I so needed to hold on to. I sadly induced a pretty serious PCL sprain in my knee which jettisoned my evacuation and leave from Revolution since I could not walk and thus could not cook. I was in a spout of depression because of this but somehow still managed to live on my own, with crutches and working solely off of instacart for a living while going to school during a arduous and unprecedented transition to online courses because of the unforeseen and foreboding pandemic. I still did not lose hope somehow and my tenacity was dwindled but still scarcely lit and all the while that was happening I was able to find my calling with nutritional science and endeavoring for Berkely to really prosper to attain a credible foundation of cognizance to be able to preach what I am learning about medicinal herbs and nutriments. I was hoping to get a position over at the Sacramento COOP since their ideals of promoting a wide array of holistic and more ethically and moral food guidelines and being community based lined up with my principles, but Sprouts ended up being a godsent since I was able to obtain a position as a vitamins clerk where I continue to practice, preach, and consolidate my comprehension with alternatives to modern medicine such as; ayurvedic medicines, chinese traditional medicines and medicinal herbs. All in which help me embody what my philosophies and ideologies are since I beleive to make a change in the world you need to be the luminescent and galvanizing change first. I embrace the hardships of life and I believe with this scholarship I will be able to illuminate my passions and possibly help others follow suit, since without a solid base(being nutrition) you cannot even conceive or begin on your journey in life.
