About Alan Vance

For over a decade I worked as a Lighting Technician in both the photo industry and motion industry. This provided me the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals a on a regular basis, teaching me how to integrate into new teams to solve complex problems. I specialized in power distribution ensuring the safety the crew and set and continued operation of large portable generators. As well as the instillation and programing of large data networks that are used to control lights on stages and on location. Culminating in building a wireless network that covered four city blocks and allowed instant control of lighting in that area. As wild fires began to sweep through the state of California I wanted to help support our communities in need by joining the California Air National Guard. By joining the 129th Air Rescue Squadron, I am able to combine my love of aviation, with the ability to impact those who need help the most. Having left the entertainment industry, I have worked to find an out put for my love technology and stability. The study of Cybersecurity allows me to integrate skills learned as a lighting technician and in the military. Networking lights on sound stage isn't much different than early networking technology. Where lights act as hubs, re-transmitting broadcasts and multi casts across the network. Securing rapidly growing networks and our increased dependence on cloud resources, is essential for business growth.
