About Alan Wilson

General I am a highly experienced International Consultant specialising in health, safety and risk management. I am also a visiting lecturer and external examiner at several Universities and Colleges and a regular guest speaker. I am retained as a safety and risk management consultant by a variety of organisations across the completed business spectrum in both the public and private sectors. I have a wealth of experience in successfully working for National and International Clients and have a particular interest in assessing the ‘stated intentions’ of an organisation against their ‘actual performance’. I have worked and continue to work in many countries, including; UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, United Kingdom, USA, Ireland, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Germany, Malaysia, Sweden, Turkey, Poland and the Netherlands. I hold a Masters Degree in Safety and Risk Management, Post-graduate Diplomas in Safety and Risk Management, Health and Safety Management and Construction Health and Safety Law. I have been a retained examiner with the Chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and the National Examination Board in Safety and Health (NEBOSH) for over 35 years and I am a Chartered Safety Practitioner and a member of the HSE Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register. Consultancy I have comprehensive experience in providing cost effective common sense solutions to health and safety problems for a variety of National and International Clients in most business sectors. This includes developing and auditing full management systems, conducting full business profiles, sliced audits, accident investigation and developing and implementing visible felt leadership. Training I have over forty years experience in developing and presenting both National and International tailored training solutions to health and safety issues to the full spectrum of business activity. This includes a proven track record in successfully engaging with Executive Directors and Senior Managers to obtain their commitment and support for a number of change management programmes. I have a particular interest in developing this commitment towards visible improvements in safety culture. This blend of academic theory and practical implementation working in so many Counties and Cultures enables me to deliver presentations that are refreshingly believable.
