As a strategic and operational leader with over 30 years’ cross-sector experience spanning public, third, and media sectors, I’ve enjoyed a proven track record in governance, compliance, transformation, and high-profile programme delivery under public and political scrutiny. Throughout my career, I’ve been able to translate complex challenges into structured, compliant and high-impact operational solutions, while cultivating high-performing teams and securing stakeholder confidence at the highest levels. I’m a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI). WHY ME? • Specialist in governance, risk, and compliance frameworks including SPFM, FReM, GDPR, FOI, and Public Records (Scotland) Act. • Extensive experience in multi-agency delivery, policy alignment, and corporate strategy within government-funded settings. • Executive-level financial management of multi-million-pound budgets with full statutory accountability. • Played key role in stakeholder engagement, from local communities to Ministers and Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) while overseeing crisis management and public-facing service reform. • Led national organisations and complex public programmes through strategic transformation and high-risk operational delivery. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS • Delivered a five-year strategic plan for Scottish Ministers under public and political scrutiny - with no allocated budget and tight timeframes. • Oversaw one of Scotland’s first Public Records Act compliance plans, aligning governance with GDPR, FOI, SPFM, and FReM. • Led NHS Highland’s Vaccination Transformation Programme across a large rural geography, integrating COVID, flu, and legacy services. • Directed corporate operations and a £6.8m budget at Victim Support Scotland, enhancing governance, risk, HR, digital, and performance systems. • Reformed board governance and stakeholder engagement for Scotland’s national Gaelic body, improving transparency and parliamentary relationships. • Created a national SPFM training programme in partnership with CIPFA, significantly improving financial governance awareness across public bodies.
