About Albert Bolander

37 years working in Optoelectronics with 25 years in Automotive lighting has provided me with experience in developing lighting systems to meet customer needs and requirements via designing, simulation, developing, fabricating, testing, trouble-shooting and fielding design. I have also had the opportunity performed R&D for adapted lighting and light spectral needs for improve lighting. My goal is to make the world a brighter place. I do that by both facilitating good lighting and by teaching about light, optics and general Physics. Doing both allows me to be involved with two of the things I enjoy. Whether it be using the latest improvement in solid state lighting (LED) to make a space more comfortable and safer or the proverbial light bulb over someone as they gain an understanding of nature, that makes ones life interesting and enjoyable. The understanding of human vision gained over the years has become increasing useful as new and better sources are developed. The full spectrum LED allows us to deliver not just the best spacial distribution of light but also spectral (color) distribution. This fulfills the goal of “The right light in the right location at the right time.” The sharing of knowledge of lighting or physics with others who share similar interest is a source of joy for me. The intern that stops and says oh that why we learned so and so in school” or the person at the Science Center that says “wow that is neat” each one adds to the pleasure of working with science. The feeling from having several, interns after spending a summer working in lighting and optics, to say that “this is what I what to do”, is only surpassed by the hearing of their first job in that field after graduating.
