Became Product Safety Consultant for FDA Region V serving IL, IN, MI, MN, OH & WI. Transferred to U S Consumer Product Safety Commission upon creation of the agency. Served as Acting Director for the Chicago District Office and established an office where none existed before. Became Community Services Director in Chicago after appointment of permanent Director. Transferred to SF to become Operations Director and eventually, Deputy Regional Director and then Senior Compliance Officer. Chair of Federal SF Bay Area Safety and Health Council for three years. Retired from federal service in 1994 after 34 years service. Served two years in U S Army in Chicago at the Armed Forces Food and Container Institute. Served as Food Technologist writing and reviewing federal specifications for canned and cured meat products among other duties. Shot on Pistol Team and earned Instructor credential from USA Advanced Marksmanship Training Unit from Fort Benning, GA. Coached pistol team for two years after separation from active duty Served as Reserve Police Officer, Marksmanship Instructor for Evergreen Park (IL) Police Department for nine years. Forty five year Boy Scout Leader serving as unit leader for 27 years, District Chair, Unit Commissioner, Training Commissioner at Wolfeboro Summer Camp. Served on Council Exploring Committee, and Risk Management Chair (2 years) and Chair of District Cub Leader Training Committee. Have taught Rifle, Shotgun and Pistol Marksmanship, Defensive Driving, Wilderness and Evidence Photography, Backcountry Trek Leadership, and CPR. among other subjects.
