About Albert Nyack

under construction] I am a comparative physiologist interested in the interaction between an organism's physiological and biochemical processes and its environment. This is important because how an organism's physiology functions in their current and predicted future environments can affect energy available for other processes. In turn this can potentially affect the survival of a given population. I primarily examine these processes in respiratory and muscle tissue because these are the chief sites of metabolic supply and demand. Thus can amplify signal to noise ratios that may be muddied by other processes. I am equally passionate about science education and public outreach. This is crucial to the fostering of quality future scientists, inspiring children to pursue careers in science, and raising public understanding of both the state of current scientific knowledge AND the scientific process. There is tremendous effort currently underway to reduce the chasm between scientific and public knowledge, and I aim to be part of that conduit's constructing.
