About Albert Oketch

Lover of code. As I finished high school, I grew an interest in software development and how a few lines of code can do things like writing to the command line or interact with apps like Twitter. Also having played a few computer games (prince of Persia, doom) got me more excited about programming. That is where my journey started. In campus I took a major in Software Engineering but the course felt a little slow and was missing something. This is the point I decided to join Moringa School - a coding bootcamp. Since completing my time at Moringa School, I have been working as a Full Stack developer using Nodejs for backend and React/React Native on the frontend. It has been a real joy seeing the work I've done being used. When I can, I also enjoy contributing to open source projects. This has been a great opportunity to see how other engineers/developers think about solutions to various problems. During my time a Full Stack Developer I have gotten good at learning new programming languages quickly, problem solving, Object Oriented Programming (OOP), Test Driven Development (TDD) and Model View Controller (MVC) methods of organising code. The languages, frameworks and skills I have so far are SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.JS, Express.JS, HTML, CSS, Angular, React, Bootstrap, Python and Git/GitHub/Bitbucket.
