About Alberta Trianni

I am a Doctor of Physics and Nanoscience and I carried out my research activity in Prof. Alberto Diaspro’s group, in the Nanoscopy Department of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, in Genoa. My project focused on the use of label-free techniques, such as ptychography, for the deep study of different inorganic and organic samples. The goal was to understand the structure and inner composition of these samples, by analyzing the phase shift of light passing through them. After my Ph.D. contract, I also worked as a Ph.D. fellow in the Nanoscopy Department of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, in a project based on the development and the characterization of a single-pixel camera capable of acquiring images at millions of frames per second. From May 2023 to August 2024 I worked as a Research fellow at the University of Torino in the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology, under the supervision of Prof. Patrizia Bovolin. Here I carried out a project regarding the impact of microplastics and associated contaminants on 2D and 3D cell cultures, using biochemical and biomolecular approaches, as well as microscopy (optical and electronic). Currently I am a Biology Research Associate for Merck Group, working in the Cell Based Assay Laboratory - Analytical Development & Innovation NBE Department
