About Alberto MacChi

I am a biomedical engineer, graduated at Politecnico di Milano and with an MS.c in biomedical engineering from University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. I worked in a clinic specializing in the supervision of the instrumentation (CT, MRI, RX), in particular a new 1.5T MRI. I worked in team with the radiographers and I have had the opportunity to understand how a clinic works. I am interested in new technologies, my undergraduate thesis was on energy harvesting for portable biomedical devices. I worked at four international cardiology conventions that gave me experience both on team work and the world of cardiology. I have experience of operating room since I have had the opportunity to attend coronary angiographies, angioplasties and the positioning of pacemakers. I have had the opportunity to work for in a startup incubator, in the team responsible for scouting and evaluating startups in the life sciences field. while working in the clinic I have completed a second level master degree at La Sapienza in Rome in Communication & Information technology in Cardiologia. I am now working as a research fellow at the national astrophysics institute The duties for this job are to work on the research on the virus SARS-COV-2 that caused the COVID-19 pandemic using the technologies of the astrophysics institute, like the solar light and UV light. The research has been extended also to other viruses, to find new techniques to sanitize.
