About Alberto Passos

Working in the Telecom business since graduation in Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores by IST Lisbon, atteined with BOM grade. Started in 1992 at Telecom Portugal, joined Philips Portuguesa in 1993. In 1996 joined Maxitel, the first Private Telco Operator in Portugal. Most relevant projets included the sale of the Telecom. Systems for the Portuguese Armed Forces deployed to Bósnia, Kosovo and East Timor, as well as OSCE customer in Balcans, Radio bradcasters, X.25 networks and SDH. In 2001 joined Refer Telecom, a Spin-off of Refer EPE, and introduced the first consistent commercial offer for leased Optical Dark Fiber in Portugal. Among customers and business carried on along the years are customers such as NOS, Vodafone, GOOGLE, Microsoft, Cogent, StartCampus, ONI, FCT-FCCN, IBM, Novabase, Abertis, APDL, Metro do Porto, BaneDK, Thales, Conselho Finanças Publicas, Ministério Economia, Ministério Administração Interna, Presidência Conselho Ministros, CEGER, Procuradoria Geral da República, Presidência da República, Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira, Estado Maior General das Forças Armadas (EMGFA), Marinha, CP, Agência de Coesão, DGEG, among many others. In 1997 introduced in Portugal the first Digital Audio Standard MP3 Professional Offer for Radio Broadcasters, stiil in use today. Design of several private networks with more than 75 sites in total (PSH and SDH), defense Network od armed forces, CEGER, Siresp, among many others Currently also holding the Atlantic CAM head of project.
