About Alberto Piva

I love exploring the world and discovering new things. I am a 31 year-old who lived in Thailand, in the United States, and in Italy, where I am currently based.Since I was in high school I have always been fascinated by numbers and I fell in love with math and computer technology. This determined my academic path, started at University of Padua with my Bachelor's Degree in Statistics followed by my Master's Degree in Data Science at Sapienza University in Rome.In correspondence with the achievement of the Master's Degree I had two short but intense internship at the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) and at Deep Learning Italia, a start-up based on deep learning. These two experience were the first opportunity to get in touch with real life problems regarding big data, machine learning and deep learning.I was immediately fascinated both by the enormous potential that this field of research holds and by the possibility that I might have to make a significant difference day after day in a field of research in continuous development. This led me to look for a job that would give me the opportunity to express my potential, and now I work as Data Scientist at Accenture in Milan.Outside of my work and academic interests, I have a profound passion for everything related to sports. I am always available to try new ones, but my favorites are football, running, swimming, and climbing.
