Aleali may is an internationally regarded creative director and designer. she is known for her effortless fusion of streetwear and luxury. she entered fashion by working in stores like louis vuitton and chicago’s rsvp gallery (owned by the late virgil abloh & don c). with her experience in consulting and design, it has put her in the center of fashion week runways, as well as the front covers of fashion magazines on behalf of louis vuitton and more. as a designer, she has been able to partner with jordan brand, setting a historic precedent as the first woman to ever design and release a unisex sneaker in 2017. the collaboration would mark the first in an ongoing relationship with aleali helping to launch jordan womens. aleali then became the first woman to collaborate on jordan brand apparel in 2021. aleali has six iterations of jordan sneakers to date, including five global releases. when it comes to her designs, may aspires to elevate the conversation using her personal style and designs as a bridge between streetwear and high-end, mentioning that “both are luxuries”. with a keen eye for creating trends, providing high quality products, and intentional storytelling, her work centers on dismantling outdated gender norms in fashion and expanding the margins for women of color.
