About Alec Gabbert

I am a current Marketing student at the University of Washington, working towards obtaining my bachelor's in business administration through the top-ranking Foster School of Business. I am also pursuing my sales certificate in the Jack and Ann Rhodes Professional Sales Program as well as a minor in Architecture through the University of Washington's College of Built Environments. On campus, I am involved in multiple RSO's and organizations including the local chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, the ASUW's student-staffed Rainy Dawg Radio, and the Univesity of Washington's First Year Programs Office. As a student, I have explored a variety of disciplines including Design, Architecture, Earth & Space Sciences, Psychology, and Communication. What this has given me is a breadth of knowledge I am eager to apply in my future career. Beginning as my first job in high school, my four-year tenure at the Target Corporation has granted me years of hands-on experience with merchandising, logistics, inbound/receiving duties, and POS systems. Most importantly, my years of experience working in retail have made me an effective team player, and a hard worker, and provided me with a skillset to tackle any business scenario, whether that be meeting a customer's needs or solving an internal logistics issue. Both this part-time career at Target and my experience as a recent graduate of the Marine Corps Officer Candidates School, a rigorous 10-week leadership program, have further allowed me to develop skills such as leadership, teamwork, time management, and effective communication. Ultimately, these experiences have instilled in me the knowledge and discipline I need to be successful as a leader, team member, and problem-solver in whatever direction life takes me in my post-college career.
