About Alec Solemslie

I am a graduate student of University of Washington (Seattle) seeking a MS of Environmental and Forest Sciences from the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences in the College of Environment and MPA from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. I have obtained my undergraduate BS degree in Forestry with minors in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Sustainable Economics from Washington State University (Pullman). Having a solid foundation of knowledge concerning the natural world and its basic sciences, I continuously seek to challenge my boundaries of knowledge in exploring the complex and dynamic science of our forests and corresponding landscapes. I seek to build an interdisciplinary knowledge base of the natural sciences and social sciences with exploring the sociology of societal and environmental interactions and dynamics and how these correspond to societal rules and policies. Being active in my home community, the Pullman community, the WSU community and now turning to the UW community, I have experienced first-hand leadership positions, team-oriented situations, and the knowledge to balance priorities. Through my endeavors, I have built strong communication and organizational skills as well as the determination and will to succeed in current and future opportunities.
