About Alejandra Muro

I am the Executive Director of the Hospitality Training Action Centre 75 (HTA 75), an education and training centre committed to maintaining a diverse and thriving hospitality industry. In this role, I am responsible for actioning the Vision of HTA 75. HTA 75 was borne out of a rapid response to aid hospitality members during the pandemic. Under my leadership, HTA 75 grew from 4 employees in March 2020 to over 25 employees in March 2024 offering a range of vocational and upskilling hospitality training programs. Since 2020, HTA 75 has trained over clients in Ontario and employed over 80 % of graduates in the hospitality industry. As a racialized immigrant woman, I understand what it means to start over which influences how I lead at HTA 75. I am a courageous leader who is not afraid to make bold decisions, take risks, and be the only person in the room. I believe in bringing people along and not leaving anyone behind. You can find me working closely with frontline workers, meeting with union representatives, and connecting with clients to ensure they can meet their full potential. I have over 15 years of experience leading and managing employment programs and co-creating partnerships that have empowered people who are underserved and under-resourced including those who are low-income, unhoused, under-skilled, disabled, racialized, and/or immigrants in Canada. As a leader in the hospitality industry, I am committed to advancing equity, diversity, and authentic inclusion that fosters a culture of belonging for all.
