About Alejandro Algara

Throughout my career in Geometrica I have been the Senior Engineer for several projects over the years, in charge of all the design aspects which include: geometry generation, design, detailing, and generating the information to purchase the materials and to fabricate the components. Since 2020 I have been a Technical Manager, now in charge of the technical development of projects, review the structural design, coordinate engineers to achieve the contract submissions and requirements, guarantee design quality, handle administrative aspects of projects, and communicate with clients during the development of the project. Some of the most recent projects include: As Senior Engineer: • Minera Esperanza -Chile- Freedome® with a reference diameter of 117.8m. • TVEP -Philippines- 125m diameter Circular Dome, designed to withstand hurricane wind speeds. • La Herradura - Stockpile Dome -Mexico- Freedome® with a reference diameter of 70m, reinforced with arches. • Los Pelambres - Stockpile Freedome® -Chile- Freedome® with reference dimensions of 78m x 82m, designed to withstand snow loads up to 750 kg/m2. As Technical Manager: • Beltrami Agridome - Grain Silo Cover -Minnesota, USA- 350ft (106.7m) diameter Circular Dome, designed to withstand snow loads up to 60psf (293 kg/m2). • Mantoverde - Ore Storage Dome -Chile- 82.5m diameter Single Layer Circular Dome, designed to support a 16 ton conveyor from its apex. • The Ark Legacy - House of Worship -Nigeria- Freedome with dimensions of 236m by 302m. While doing the design of these projects, I had the opportunity to study different design codes, including Mexican, American, Chilean, Philippine, European and Nigerian. As the Sales and Marketing Manager, some of my responsibilities include: service existing and potential clients, respond to inquiries in a timely manner, prepare proposals, monitoring the progress of the sale, visit potential clients to generate business, negotiate terms and conditions of sale, service and expand resellers network, managing the promotion and positioning of our brand and products, tracking and analyzing the performance of our advertising campaigns, and develop marketing material. Also, thanks to my technical background I had an essential role on the sale of the largest contract Geometrica has ever won, The Ark Legacy Project. I prepared pre-designs and takeoffs to provide a competitive and attractive solution to the client, and held meetings with the client's architects and engineers to achieve a common ground.
