About Alejandro Arguello

I am a multidisciplinary professional with extensive experience in technology, geosciences, and project management. Currently, I work as a Senior Infrastructure Analyst at Citi, Costa Rica, leading teams in escalation management, troubleshooting, and coordinating incident responses within the Wintel/UNIX infrastructure. I also focus on data analysis to optimize workflows and decision-making processes, contributing to significant improvements and cost savings. In addition to my role at Citi, I’m actively involved in Risk Management for Seismic at the Laboratorio de Ingeniería Sísmica at University of Costa Rica (UCR), where I contribute to the development of an Active Fault Catalog and manage seismic risk assessments. As a Professor at UCR, I teach geological sciences, mentor students, and share knowledge through international conferences and publications. My work has led to more than seven indexed publications, over ten international presentations, and several research grants. Previously, I served as a Product Owner/Project Manager at CeNAT (National Center for High Technology), where I led the development of an AI-driven real-time volcanic monitoring system, managing resources and ensuring successful project deployment. With a background in Computer Science and Geology, and an ongoing MBA in Technology Management at ULACIT, I’m deeply focused on driving digital transformation and AI-powered solutions across industries, particularly in earthquake physics and automation.
