About Alejandro Bisquertt

I am an entrepreneur & scientist interested in biotechnology and product development mainly molecular biology and next-generation sequencing. I like to investigate and implement new technologies, tinker with systems, and solve problems in creative ways. Now I am the founder & CEO of Codebreaker Bioscience where we use the power of the microbiome to enhance and improve productivity in food producer. I studied at the Johns Hopkins University in Biotechnology Enterprise and Entrepreneurship program and Biochemistry and molecular biology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. I have more than 10 years of experience in applied research and management of innovation projects at different universities such as the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and the University of California San Diego as well as companies such as Monsanto, Neurognos, and Tested Dx. Former founder of 2 companies: Neurognos a company that was developing a minimally invasive early detection test for neurodegenerative diseases and Tested Dx a clinical laboratory that was created to help during the pandemic. I have experience in the design and implementation of laboratories, and processes, leading technical, commercial, and management teams. Also proficient in R & Python analyzing NGS data (mostly from Illumina machines) like RNA-Seq, 16S, WES, WGS, and miRNA-Seq among others pipelines.
