About Alejandro de Pena

My objective is to become the best educator I can be by supporting and acting as a resource for a school and to create an effective climate to motivate all students to be aware of and use their strengths and weaknesses so that they can become good advocates for themselves in all settings. While much of my experience has been at the university level, I am adaptable and have no problem adjusting to any grade level, age or special needs and I will be an asset to your organization. My responsibilities as an assistant included the development and implementation of the courses’ lessons and assessments. I was also a trainer, where I worked closely with the Peer Leader Coordinator to supervise and develop 100+ Peer Leaders through weekly staff development workshops that I designed and taught. In addition, I volunteered at special education classrooms and local youth sports teams where I got further experience working and mentoring students and student aged children in various situations. Experience has taught me how to build strong relationships with all departments at an organization, even as big as a university and districts here in my community. I have the ability to work within a team as well as cross-team, as well as assume leadership roles. I can work with and build successful working relationships with students, children, teenagers, staff, professionals, parents, mentors and supervisors.
