About Alejandro Falla

With over 25 years of experience in capital markets, I am a motivated finance and banking professional who leads the Central Banks Capacity Building, Asset Management & Advisory Services (CASA) program at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).In my current role, I coordinate and co-lead client engagements for CASA, providing technical assistance and asset management solutions to IDB's borrowing member countries. I collaborate internally to design, execute, and deliver client-approved initiatives, leveraging quantitative analysis and risk management tools.Previously, I was the Head of Analytics at the Colombian Comptroller General's Office, where I led the digital transformation of the Information, Analysis, and Immediate Reaction Division (DIARI) using artificial intelligence and quantitative risk models for national fiscal budget control. I directed a team of 72 professionals, supporting fiscal control projects on the USD$93 billion public budget.My mission is to use my expertise in finance, banking, and investment to support the development and growth of the Latin American and Caribbean region, while building strong and lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders. I am passionate about applying innovative and data-driven solutions to complex and dynamic challenges, and achieving sustainable and positive results.
