About Alejandro Ruiz

Currently employed at the City of Placentia, I am the site lead of the senior center. Starting as a parks and recreation staff in 2017, I've realized the love I have for serving the community, helping people, and creating healthy work environments. This job has taught me how to communicate effectively with the public, how to work as a team towards a shared goal, and how to be a leader. I find communication and mutual respect the utmost important in any workplace. I've recently graduated from CSULB with a BFA in Theory and Practice of cinema with a concentration in production management. I've made numerous short films starting in middle school and high school, working with passionate collaborators. In college I've had the privilege of making a couple short documentaries during the pandemic. I've also had the opportunity to write and direct a live production for my CSULB studio production class titled "The Shoplifter". I've worked collaboratively in a team to create original content for the Harmony Project and I've also interned with the Long Beach Shredders Hockey team as a camera operator and assisting with live broadcasting to HockeyTV.
