My lesson planning experiences range from Kindergarten to Grade 8, and I am adept at scaffolding learning to promote dialogue, feedback, and shared responsibility, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to thrive academically and personally. I am well-versed in Universal Design for Learning, and ensuring instruction is accessible to all students. By offering multiple means of representation, engagement, and expression, I strive to empower every learner to achieve their full potential. Additionally, I utilize the Thinking Classroom approach cross-curricularly to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students. With a strong emphasis on differentiated instruction and the ability to modify instruction, materials, and assessment for all students I understand the importance to adhere to Individualized Education Programs. I ensure to tailor the Ontario curriculum to meet students' needs, fostering both success and achievement. I highly value effective communication and collaboration with staff, which is crucial for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. My proficiency in classroom management strategies and my strong foundation in Culturally Responsive and Relevant Pedagogy and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion principles have enabled me to create a welcoming and respectful classroom atmosphere. I am always eager to learn and implement more innovative strategies to meet the unique needs of each student and support their growth. I am dedicated to creating an inclusive, empathetic, and inquiry-based classroom environment that encourages students to thrive. I pride myself on my strong organizational skills, for example, successfully teaching a Grade 3/4 split class as a teacher candidate, ensuring that curriculum standards were met for both grades. Additionally, my experiences in coaching various ages and sports has reinforced my belief in the power of building strong relationships, effective communication, and regular reflection. This experience has not only enhanced my ability to work with children and youth but also allowed me to foster resilience.
