About Alessandro Baffa

With over 15 years of experience in software engineering, I am a versatile and passionate engineer who enjoys working on innovative and challenging projects. I am currently a Senior Software Engineer at Pafin, a fintech startup that is creating Defitact, an online dashboard that elaborates users' DeFi transactions, assets, and balances on blockchains. At Pafin, I am primarily focused on the backend microservices architecture, using Python, Go and gRPC/Twirp. I am also AWS certified and have experience with cloud deployments, test and build automation, and infrastructure components. Previously, I was the Head of Blockchain at Fragcolor, where I built a blockchain based on Substrate SDK, and a Blockchain Solutions Architect at SBI R3 Japan, where I supported customers with Corda DLT adoption. I have a strong background in full web engineering, IoT systems, and large worldwide corporations and startups. I am fluent in three languages (Italian, French, and English) and improving in Japanese. I am also a Certified Scrum Master and a big advocate of development practices such as TDD. My goal is to leverage my skills and knowledge to create cutting-edge solutions that make a positive impact on the world.
