About Alessandro Giacchino

Graduated in 2005 in Environmental Engineering, was selected for the PhD Course in Fluid Dynamics and collaborated as teaching assistant for the hydraulic engineering course. During this period worked as consultant for an engineering Company located in Genoa, developing researches in hydraulics and hydrology. In 2006 got the title of Hydraulic Engineer - expert of urban drainage systems. In 2007 was selected among 800 engineers and physicists for a contract of apprenticeship in Ansaldo Energia. Hired by the Company, was employed in the mechanical engineering department. In 2008 got a Master Degree in Advanced Engineering for the Design and Management of Power Plants. After a solid experience as Mechanical Plant Engineer, in 2105 became a Senior Engineer specialized in industrial noise control. In 2018 was appointed Lead Engineer for Hybrid Applications. In this role, his main activity was related to the development of new products for power plant flexibility and optimization. In 2021 became Project Engineer, leading projects involving hydrogen, innovative storage solutions and high-efficiency power plants equipped with H-class gas turbines. In 2022 moved to Ansaldo GreenTech and was appointed Head of BOP Engineering Department. In 2023 was hired by Edison S.p.A. in the role of Project Engineering Coordinator - Hydrogen. During his career, acquired broad competences in power plant design, optimization and testing, and also additional skills in product development and management.
