About Alessandro Mereu

Dr. Alessandro Mereu (Global Application Manager at Dupont) has more than 10 years of experience in planning and conducting animal nutrition research in the animal nutrition industry. In 2009 Dr. Mereu has joined Lucta SA as post-doc student and from 2010 onwards as R&D Manager and then Innovation Development Manager participating on research efforts oriented towards understanding the role that chemicals including volatile compounds, phytochemicals and protein-derived compounds plays in affecting feed palatability, intake, feeding behavior and physiological processes in livestock gut. Since may 2016 Dr. Mereu has joined Yara International ASA as leader of the animal nutrition R&D at global level. In 2020 Dr. Mereu joined DuPont animal nutrition Innovation tram as Global Application Manager. During more than 10 years Dr. Mereu has worked in positions that involved leading and managing research programs and product development for livestock. In these positions his major responsibilities included technical assistance to the commercial teams, designing planning and leading research activities; writing publications; supervising students and team of technicians and contributing to develop company strategy. The impact of his work is partially illustrated by more than 20 publications.
