About Alessandro Morea
Since my university studies, I have been deeply engaged in understanding the driving alterations that contribute to carcinogenesis. The prospect of unraveling these mechanisms and finding ways to counteract them has always fascinated me. During my time at King's College London, I had the opportunity to work on the TwinsUK project, exploring the interplay between genetic and epigenetic factors in cancer etiology. This experience further solidified my passion for oncology research and motivated me to pursue a PhD in molecular oncology, which I completed in Dr. Dana Branzei’s DNA repair lab at IFOM. Here, my research focused on the interplay between genomic instability and inflammation, two key mechanisms driving tumorigenic transformations.
