About Alessio Gargaro

With over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry, I am the Director of Scientific Affairs at BIOTRONIK, a global leader in cardiovascular and endovascular solutions. During my career I managed clinical trials and multiple research projects to support and develop various devices, such as pacemakers, defibrillators, and stents, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance. I have coauthored >60 scientific publications. I developed a predictor of heart failure hospitalizations based on the remote monitoring data from implantable cardioverter defibrillators of the BIOTRONIK Home Monitoring system. The predictor is now used within the BIOTRONIK HeartInsight feature. I’m leading an international group of fantastic scientists, statisticians, and data managers. I have skills in cardiac pacing, electrophysiology, data science, and biomedical engineering, which allowed me to collaborate with physicians, engineers, and regulatory authorities. My mission is to improve the lives of patients with cardiac and vascular diseases, by providing innovative and reliable solutions. I am passionate about learning new technologies, I value teamwork, integrity, and excellence.
