About Alex Barnes

I pride myself on being a highly determined and inquisitive person with a deep-rooted passion for learning and problem-solving. I’ve always sought out opportunities to expand my skills and tackle new challenges. Whether that’s learning a new coding language or developing a complex project, I’m always excited by the opportunity to grow – especially when I get to collaborate and contribute to a team’s success. I studied for an Integrated Master's in Biosciences at Durham University graduating with first class honours. Having previously worked as a biochemical researcher I have applied the principles of data analysis, experimental design and problem solving to my new role as a junior data scientist. My passions for coding and collaboration led me to Sigma Labs, where I’ve had the privilege of building on my knowledge of software and data engineering. The hands-on, project driven learning environment has been instrumental in my professional development. Additionally, Sigma Labs’ emphasis on professional high performance have honed my problem-solving, communication and skills.
