About Alex Bean

As the Lead Manufacturing Engineer for Cleanroom Operations at Cytiva, I collaborate with customers, NPI, and design engineers to turn customer’s designs into reality. I am responsible for ensuring quality, compliance, efficiency, lean, and cost reduction in the production of medical devices and biopharmaceutical equipment. I hold a B.Sc. in Management Engineering & Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), and am currently pursuing my M.Sc. in Manufacturing Engineering, also from WPI. I have a decade of experience in medical device and biopharma manufacturing under my belt. I have successfully applied my skills in Kaizen events, value stream mapping, cGxP, electro-mechanical systems, PLM systems, ERP systems, qualification, validation, risk assessment, fixture and jig development, design troubleshooting, and process engineering to multiple projects, resulting in increased customer satisfaction, reduced waste, and improved productivity. I am passionate about innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, and I strive to deliver excellence and value to my stakeholders. In my free time, I am a historian, musician, cook, and movie buff!
