About Alex Cann

I am a 2020 graduate of Rowan University with a minor in German Studies and Psychology, and a major in Radio/TV/Film. I interned at The Ellen DeGeneres Show in California, and was the former Co-Operations Manager at Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM. I was also previously the Top 40 Director. While at the Rowan Radio station, I was awarded the Hickman Family/ WGLS-FM Scholarship. I also balance this with clubs, such as Cinema Workshop and the Rowan Television Network, in which I learn the process of filmmaking, how to properly use equipment on set, and the importance of communicating effectively in a collaboration. For the Rowan Television Network, I co-hosted the 2018 RTN Telethon in which we helped raise money for the Pennsylvania SPCA. I directed, shot, and edited a promotional video for InBeTween Girls, a female empowerment organization in which I was a mentor to a tween girl from 2014-2016. I was also a part of a creative team that won an award for "Best Editing" on a video we submitted to The New Jersey High School Film Challenge in 2016.
