About Alex Carabetta
Hi! My name is Alex. I want to become a researcher and educator in the field of host-microbiome interactions. I have previously worked in a wide variety of fields, from plant pathology and plant development to bioinformatics and clinical genetics. Through all of this experiences, I have learned that my favorite part of science is working with others on projects and presenting that work to my peers. I also love serving as a mentor, as I do for UConn's genetic engineering team, iGEM. I hope to obtain a PhD in microbiology upon graduation from UConn this May and become a professor.
