At renewal Alex received several letters from insurers offering a better quote but this meant spending a lot of time calling around for the best deal. This led Alex to pursue the idea of providing a better customer experience. When Alex started out he was stuck with a broker system that only returned a 2% conversion rate. After a few months of trading the ineffective system was withdrawn and Alex searched for a better way of working. Everything he tried failed and “at the very point he thought he was going to have to admit defeat he discovered his unique business model.
