About Alex Cox

Certified and Experience Sport and Leisure Manager I have spent my professional career working in the Leisure Industry since graduating from Cardiff with a BA (Hons) in Sport and Leisure Management. Over the last 11 years I have sought to continue my professional development to keep up with current trends including holistic therapy, exercise and leisure provision, organising sporting and fund raising events and developing sporting opportunities for both the club and local communities. I worked for 9 years as the Fitness Centre Manager at a Sports Centre operated by one of the most prestigious Public Schools in the United Kingdom. I was involved in the vetting and subsequent recruitment of Health and Fitness professionals and then directing them to deliver superior customer service, achieve sales targets and provide a wealth of cutting edge, industry recognised health and fitness expertise. Working to strict financial and marketing plans to achieve the highest possible revenues by developing existing target demographics and seeking new areas for expansion. Membership retention through superior customer service, a multi-layered media presence and incentives (corporate and family rates) was integral to the role so a thorough, robust evaluation of consumer needs was essential. On-going competitor research needed to be carried out to ensure that the service delivered was complete and took into account current industry trends to satisfy the needs of the diverse membership base.
