About Alex Culp

Over the past 23 years I have worked all over the country helping to grow a legendary company, Trader Joe's. To say my experience is vast would be an understatement. I started from the ground up (I was literally a holiday help hire in 1997) and finished running some of the largest most successful stores in the company as the Captain. I left the SF Bay area in 2001 to help grow company and joined the midwest region out of Chicago. While there, I had opportunities to advance quickly and learned to understand the importance of being excellent everyday in order to gain market share and establish the brand. After being promoted to Captain, I opened several of the regions signature stores and was tasked with passing down the company's culture to the new employees in order to sustain our growth. By spending my time equally training and hiring with day to day store operations, I played a part in countless promotions and I was twice named Captain of the Year in 2014 and 2015. I left the midwest to open a store in Ft. Collins, Colorado before returning to the Bay Area to help out the busy San Francisco stores at the request of a senior vice president. I loved my experience at Trader Joe's and look forward to helping another company develop a core culture, grow the right way, and contribute to the communities that they inhabit.
