About Alex Cusell

My parents immigrated from Cuba, hoping to give me a better life. I grew up working at their businesses, amazed by their obsession with helping every person who walked through the door. Because of them, I know what it means to truly love what you do and who you do it for. My life’s mission is to bring that same philosophy to tech. I founded Jisell because, coming from an immigrant family, I always had to be smart about money. Gift cards were an important financial tool for me, not just a nice-to-have. I struggled to remember the balance, have them with me when I needed them, and manage all of these plastic cards. As a software engineer, I decided to build a solution that would solve this problem for myself and other people who struggle to redeem their gift cards.
