During this period, Alex has served the energy industry aligning the forefront of software and distributed sensing technology with client needs, driving innovation to provide better solutions and real value to customers. Alex’s 20 years of experience on pipelines include: • Distributed Sensing Technology including DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing) and (DTS) Distributed Temperature Sensing. • Pipeline Leak Detection, • Pipeline Theft Detection & Intruder detection • Pipeline Real-Time and Offline Simulation, • Extensive experience with different pipeline leak detection methods like Negative Pressure Wave (NPW), Statistical LDSl, RTTM, • Fibre Optic (FO) based pipeline leak detection methods (Temperature, Acoustic, and Vibration). • Specifications for Pipeline Leak Detection of: o Gas, Liquid, Multi-phase and Slack Flowlines o Onshore and offshore pipelines o Airport Hydrants, o Tanks and Tank Farms, o Long and Short pipelines, o Open Chanel leak detection Alex’s solid technical background includes a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Manchester, an MSc in material sciences, and a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
