Background

About Alex Dobson

I use SQL and SAS to deep dive into big data and prepare analytical cross channel reporting. I'm a certified Tableau Desktop Specialist, Alteryx Designer, and have Big 4 management experience. I started my career working at KPMG in Toronto, Canada and obtained my CPA while at the firm. At KPMG I accepted a secondment to London, UK where I specialized in data modelling and data visualization projects. While leading these projects, I discovered my interest working with data, specifically, extracting and manipulating data to extract valuable insights. Today I support senior marketing stakeholders by using SQL, SAS, and MicroStrategy to analyze the effectiveness of tailored marketing offers. I summarize insights through push reports and self serve reports such as dashboards. From my Big 4 experience, I bring project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to ask tough questions. As an avid lifelong learner, I actively pursue new courses to continually expand my technical skillset. Most recently I've taken courses exploring the use of Azure's Synapse Analytics solution.
