About Alex du Cane

I’ve spent the last 10+ years helping individuals, families, and business owners protect, structure, and grow their wealth, particularly those with ties to Southern Africa, where I’m originally from. Today, I co-lead Equitrust, a licensed trustee and corporate service provider based in Malta and Mauritius, where we focus on offering practical, compliant, and value-driven solutions for international clients with complex needs. A big part of what I do involves building long-term relationships. Many of our clients already have structures in place - trusts, holding companies, or investment vehicles - but the regulatory landscape has changed in recent years. My role is to help them adapt, restructure where necessary, and stay ahead, whether it’s simplifying a multi-jurisdictional structure, navigating banking challenges, or improving transparency and governance without losing control. My expertise lies in advisory, trust administration, corporate structuring, and regulatory compliance. But beyond the technical work, I take pride in offering straight-talking, commercially sensible advice. I understand the environments our clients operate in, particularly in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and neighbouring countries and we’ve designed our services to reflect those realities. At Equitrust, we don’t just “manage” structures, we actively guide clients through them, ensuring they stay compliant, efficient, and fit for purpose.
