About Alex Gardner

I am a litigator who focuses on commercial litigation and maintains a diverse practice representing institutions and individuals in state and federal courts, as well as in domestic and international arbitrations. I have extensive experience in the following areas: real estate litigation; employment-related litigation, including issues regarding non-competition agreements, discrimination and intellectual property; securities litigation and arbitration; trusts and estates; criminal law, including defending individuals and corporations in investigations and actions brought by various regulatory agencies; and, matrimonial and family law, including pre-and post-nuptial agreements and divorce negotiation. I also draft clients' employment agreements and corporate formation documents (i.e. shareholders and partnership agreements). Before joining Mintz & Gold, I was a partner at Tofel & Partners and before that served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office from 1992-1998, serving as lead chair in over twenty felony jury trials. I also served as a supervisor in the Appeals Bureau, arguing over 30 appeals before the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division and multiple cases before the New York State Court of Appeals and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
