Background
About Alex Gillette
I am a dedicated professional with a growing expertise in Forensic Toxicology, committed to advancing my career in the field through continuous learning and hands-on experience. In my current position at St. Louis' Forensic Toxicology laboratory I use the QTOF to perform qualitative screening via protein crash and I quantitate various THC-related compounds on the GC-MS via liquid-liquid extraction. In my previous position, I analyzed preliminary testing data collected by the GC-NPD via acid/base drug screen via solid-phase extraction and by performing immunoassay testing. Additionally, my responsibilities extended to performing quantitative analyses via both GC-MS and GC-NPD as well as conducting alcohol testing via GC-FID. My experience at the University of Florida has equipped me with a comprehensive skill set and an understanding of forensic toxicology methodologies. My current position in St. Louis is allowing me to grow as a professional and as a scientist by exposing me to new techniques and skills. I am excited about contributing my knowledge and skills to a dynamic environment where I can further develop my passion for forensic science.
