As a Lead Corporate PACS Administrator for Prime Healthcare, my responsibilities include a dynamic and expanding set of duties that encompass 51 hospitals and more than 360 outpatient locations in 14 states, providing over 2.5 million patient visits annually. It is one of the nation's leading health systems, with nearly employees. From our corporate offices in Ontario California. We work to manage the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) to ensure efficient access to medical imaging for healthcare professionals throughout Prime Healthcare. We accomplish this by ensuring that we can store, retrieve, present and share images produced by various medical hardware modalities, such as X-Ray machines, Computed Tomography (CT) scans, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans and Ultrasound (US) machines among others. We optimize key processes in managing patient information. Secure seamless transmission of medical data and secure a specific path for moving key information between other PACS components, relevant departments and remote locations.Provide application-level PACS support, including image workflow, auto routing, among other activities. Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot PACS and associated devices and software, Integrate diagnostic images with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS). Work with the Information Services department to ensure the smooth operation of all PACS hardware and software for efficient distribution of medical diagnostic images to end users.Responsible for all PACS server upgrade projects involving both application and hardware upgrades including coordination with other teams such as SCCM, TRO, IT Engineering, local IT, Administration, Radiology, Cardiology, Storage and Vendor teams to ensure little to no downtime and interruption of patient care.Responsible for the management and implementation of our Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) protocols throughout all our hospitals including training and documentation as part of our Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) planning. Team member responsible for the conversion of legacy PACS system to our PACS systems on new hospital acquisitions including the training of personnel, supervision and training of on-site PACS Administrators, Pre Go-live Hardware, Modality, Application and IT coordination, direct Go-Live on site level support and follow-up level support.Monitor PACS throughout Prime and prepare reports on PACS performance and make recommendations based on findings.
