About Alex Holtom

I'm a graduate of the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at McGill University, located in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang, also known as Montréal, Québec. I also hold a Master of Arts (MA) degree in the Social Dimensions of Health program from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Anthropology, History, and French from the University of Guelph. My pronouns are she | her | elle | la. I currently work as a Knowledge Specialist in Harm Reduction Programming with CATIE. My role includes reviewing and analyzing research; leading and collaborating on the development of service provider programming resources and tools; synthesizing evidence into CATIE’s core knowledge exchange vehicles; and supporting the uptake of harm reduction, HIV, and hepatitis C programming knowledge across the organization and with external stakeholders. Previously, I served as a Knowledge Mobilization Specialist with the National Safer Supply Community of Practice. My background includes relevant education and experience in project management, communications, knowledge exchange, community organizing and mobilization, case management, crisis intervention, and frontline harm reduction service provision. I'm passionate about harm reduction, drug policy, safe supply, decriminalization, justice, collective liberation, and abolition.
