About Alex Huffman

I’m a lifelong learner, and I believe my career trajectory reflects that. I’ve intentionally pursued roles that have allowed me to work on different teams and in different functional areas, and I measure my success in the number of opportunities I’ve had to learn and grow. From building an unattended retail brand with Canteen, to building the company’s new Enterprise Resource Planning system with Compass Technology, I’m always looking to collaborate with new teammates and add to my skillset. Along the way, I’ve worked with great people who helped me discover my passion for problem solving and process building. The greatest, and most challenging part of my job is that it’s new every day, and there’s always some knowledge to be gained. Of all that I’ve learned, it’s what I’ve learned about myself that I find most valuable. I’ve learned that I like building things or rebuilding and optimizing things as is the case with my current role. I’ve learned how much I enjoy managing other people, coaching them, championing them, and encouraging them to reach their full potential for success. I’ve learned that I like consensus, but I’m also comfortable speaking out, because I’m confident that we can reach an agreement if we work together. Outside of work I’m learning to speak French and, as I’m recently gluten free, I’m also experimenting with lots of new recipes.
