About Alex Kidman

With 20 years of experience in the mining and exploration industry, I am a passionate and driven Group Operations Manager at Lucapa Diamond Company Ltd, a leading producer of high-value diamonds from Africa and Australia. My core competencies include geology, mining, project management, and diamond value management, and I am committed to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of all group operations. As the Group Operations Manager, I am responsible for managing the company's interests in two operating mines and four exploration projects across Angola, Lesotho, Botswana, and Australia. I work closely with the Lucapa board of directors, site managers, and technical teams to deliver on the company's vision and objectives, while adhering to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and innovation. I also provide technical analysis and oversight, relating to operations management, diamond value management, geometallurgy, data management, and production geology. Since joining Lucapa Diamond Company in 2017, I have successfully managed and completed am number of group projects, including the acquisition of the Merlin mine in Australia and the implementation of efficiency improvements at Mothae, Lesotho.
